Before and After: Pool Boundary Fence using NewTechWood Quick Panel DIY Cladding
After transforming their back fence into a striking feature wall using NewTechWood Castellation Cladding, our clients returned to extend the look along their adjacent boundary fence. The goal this time around was to create a cohesive finish to the backyard, framing the pool and the massive 19-meter length of their block, all the way to a custom entrance gate from the garage. It was no small task, but using NewTechWood DIY Quick Panel cladding, the project was completed in record time – and the result is spectacular.

The existing fence was functional but lacked the design impact of their feature wall. With the right materials and a thoughtful layout, this latest addition became a design element in its own right.
A Bold 45-Degree Layout for Style and Efficiency
Instead of a standard horizontal or vertical layout, the boards were installed at a 45-degree angle, creating a strong architectural rhythm and a sense of movement that immediately elevated the look and feel of the yard.

The diagonal layout wasn’t just for its striking look, it also came with practical benefits. Rotating the angle of the panels allowed for efficient use of the 2.4m board lengths, reducing waste, all while delivering a bold, contemporary finish.
The warm timber-look tones of the composite cladding complement the pool and landscaping, softening the space while providing privacy and durability. The angled lines guide the eye across the yard, turning the long boundary into a standout design feature.
Seamless Gate and Fence Integration
A custom gate was clad in the same DIY Quick Panel profile, creating a seamless transition from garage to pool zone. Continuing the same colour tones across fence, gate, and feature wall gives the outdoor space a cohesive, intentionally designed feel. Each element works together, making the backyard look like a single, unified design rather than separate upgrades.
DIY Quick Install: Fast, Clean, and Straightforward
True to its name, the NewTechWood DIY Quick Install system made the build remarkably simple. Once the frame was in place, the cladding went up in a single day, with the gate completed just as efficiently.
The pre-engineered boards are lightweight, easy to handle, and the concealed fixing system delivers a clean, uninterrupted finish. This makes the system suitable for both DIY enthusiasts and trade professionals, combining efficiency with a polished result.
Beyond Fencing: Creative Possibilities With Composite Cladding
This project shows that composite cladding can be more than a wall covering. It’s a low-maintenance, weather-resistant, and visually refined solution for fencing, screening, custom gates, and cladding.
With creative orientations like the 45-degree layout, homeowners can turn functional elements into standout features. The Quick Panel system opens up possibilities for other areas of the home, making it easy to create cohesion and continuity across outdoor spaces.
This project began with the installation of NewTechWood Castellation Cladding on the opposite side of the backyard. Together, both stages demonstrate how different NewTechWood systems can be used across a single space to create a cohesive, modern outdoor area with minimal maintenance.
